Yes indeed, today is THE day in America where prophets are espousing great awakenings/shakings/turnings and more. Who knows. We are just a farm sitting directly in the path of the Great American Solar Eclipse. Our farm is located directly next to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Many ancients have legends and folklore of such days – ominous ones – glorious ones – and everyhing in between. Once again, who knows.
Today we are mostly curious. We have our solar glasses. We have the fireworks ready to release during the 2 plus minute complete darkness window. And, our animals well, we plan to let them be animals and watch and listen as to how they do.
We have been told animals eyes can be impacted just like humans. But, last time I checked, I dont see animals staring directly at the sun. Maybe in their DNA 1000s of years ago they learned that was a dumb thing to do. Animals have survived eclipses and I am sure so will we. We will be recording the reactions from all our animals which include – chickens, turkeys, ducks, pheasants, goats, sheep, horses, cows, alpacas and bees. It will be interesting to see what they all do!
We do intend to record and share what happens on our farm over the course of the day though. As any farm owner knows, animals are VERY sensitive to weather, moon cycles, seasons and more. They can sense in unimaginable ways far beyond our human limited comprehension. We just see it happen far to often on the farm to be not so.
So, for this morning on record — it is 9am. The full eclipse for us is slightly after 2pm. As of now the sky is perfectly clear blue, baby blue. It seems so crisp and clear, no haze in the sky. It is peaceful and stunning. We will report out throughout the day as the eclipse nears and passes over the Great Smoky Mountain National Park that is directly across the road from our farm.
God Bless! And may we all pray for goodness and peace across all our lands this special day.
