Why I Love Homesteading

This Morning’s Collection From The Farm

Honestly, for me, there is nothing more rewarding than homesteading/farming on a small micro farm.  We grow and raise a rather large array of things.

Today I’ve collected fresh goats milk in the pitcher (of which I get about one gallon of milk per day), fresh chicken eggs, kohlrabi, collard greens, swiss chard and calendula flowers I will soak in oil for my salve making.

When I see the bright beautiful colors and such a wide variety of dairy, eggs, vegetables and medicinal flowers, it truly makes my morning.  There is nothing more rewarding than being greeted to such bounty every day during our spring, summer and fall months.  It’s like a local grocery store outside my front door.

For those of you thinking of getting back to basics and doing more things by hand, I highly encourage it.  It has been a life changing adventure for our entire family!

We are so blessed to be farmers/homesteaders!!

God Bless! L. Davis
